Flager AIA Bascule Bridge Replacement
Flager AIA Bascule Bridge Replacement
The Flagler Memorial Bridge project consist of the replacement of two low level fixed bridges and two movable bascule bridges spanning the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) that connect the Town of Palm Beach to Florida’s mainland and the City of West Palm Beach. The Flagler Memorial Bridge was constructed in 1938 and is part of SR A1A. Recent bridge inspections conducted by the FDOT show that the bridge is structurally deficient. The bridge replacement is for the Florida Department of Transportation, District IV, with an estimated construction cost of $100 million.
